This is because Being practical, I sometimes skip unit tests, but it usually makes me cringe. Although TDD is quite I think that testability serves as a good guide – components that are easy to test in separation usually make up a pretty good design. TDD is based on a simple idea: Write tests for your code before you write the code itself. A lot has happened since that book, and the files from it that were once posted on the Saorsa & Adaption sites were lost. However, this "simple" idea takes skill and judgment to do well. There is a curious symmetry to the way this book presents Acceptance Test- Driven Development and the way software is developed with ATDD. Now there's a practical guide to TDD that takes you beyond the basic concepts. Several people have asked me for the source from my last book “TDD: A Practical Guide”. Professional, 2002; Martin Fowler et al, "Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code", Addison-Wesley Professional, 1999; David Astels, "Test Driven Development: A Practical Guide", Prentice Hall PTR, 2003. The first parts of the series are more theoretical, while as the last part will be fully practical, since we are going to implement some example code using TDD. Recently there have been a few discussions of testing and test-driven development (TDD) in the blogosphere, which inspired me to think a bit about my own development methodology, and testing in particular. With Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD), business customers, testers, and developers can collaborate to produce testable requirements that help them build higher quality software more rapidly.
